The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) is preparing to launch a communication campaign dedicated to promoting vocational education as a future choice for young people in the region. The campaign, which will be unveiled next week, aims to combat stigmas, reinforce the value of vocational paths and give visibility to the multiple opportunities that vocational education offers.
High employability rates, practical training adapted to the labour market, more competitive salaries and the possibility of pursuing higher education are just some of the arguments that reinforce the attractiveness of vocational education. However, social prejudice, a perception of inferior quality and a lack of knowledge of real opportunities continue to keep many young people away from this path.
To mark this moment and anticipate the campaign, the President of the AMP, Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues, shared a video message emphasising the strategic importance of vocational education for the development of the region and for the future of the new generations, stressing that it's time to move on from old ideas, given that vocational education is not a second-rate alternative, it's a first-rate option for those who want to enter the world of work prepared, while still having the door open to continue studying.
The full campaign will be presented next week, with its own content and presence on different digital and physical channels.
Stay tuned and follow this movement for vocational education that is more valued, better known and closer to the young people of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
