In 2022, the Metropolitan Choir/Body returned with a new edition that would restate the power of art as a space for collective encounter and expression. This project by the Porto Metropolitan Area, with general coordination by Mauro Rodrigues and artistic direction by Sara Yasmine and António Serginho, continued the dynamic initiated with MATER 17 in 2021.

In 2022 the Metropolitan Choir/Body performed in Espinho, bringing together for the first time and on the same stage all the voices that made up the choir, in a travelling show about the vast territory of the Porto Metropolitan Area, crossing paths that go from the mountains to the sea.

More than just a musical project, the Choir/Body is a shared creative experience that maps and celebrates the diversity and unity of the region. In every corner, stories, geographies and affections echo, connecting us — between mountains and sea.
