As part of the Training and Cooperation Plan implemented between the Erasmus+ Portuguese Agency and the Lithuanian Agency — Agency of Youth Affairs (AYA) — a Lithuanian delegation is conducting a study visit to northern Portugal under the theme “Lithuania to Portugal, 2025: Youth work policy in Portugal”.
Organised by the Erasmus+ Youth/Sport Portuguese Agency and European Solidarity Corps, this visit aims to raise awareness of how youth work is developed in Portugal, promote the exchange of experiences between Portugal and Lithuania, explore local best practices and strengthen links to Erasmus+ programmes in the fields of Youth and Sport, and to the European Solidarity Corps.
Given the work that has been carried out in the area of Youth, the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) was challenged to share its experience and lessons learned, welcoming the Lithuanian delegation to its headquarters on 7 October. The session provided an opportunity to present the work carried out over the last three years, highlighting projects such as the Youth Monitor, the AMP Metropolitan Youth Strategy Group and the process of developing the Metropolitan Youth Strategy, demonstrating an integrated and multi-level approach to discussion and implementation.
With Youth Work being the central theme of this visit, the importance of the role of youth practitioners in municipalities and across the territory was also emphasised, reinforcing the need for their continuous and specialised training, collaborative networking, training in non-formal education methodologies and their participation in innovative approaches to communication and youth engagement.
The AMP thanks the Erasmus+ Agency for the opportunity to be part of these moments of sharing and mutual learning, which continue to enrich the work with and for young people throughout the region.
No âmbito do Plano de Formação e Cooperação implementado entre a Agência Nacional Portuguesa Erasmus+ e a Agência Nacional da Lituânia — Agency of Youth Affairs (AYA) — decorre a visita de estudo de uma comitiva lituana ao Norte de Portugal, sob o tema “Lithuania to Portugal, 2025: Youth work policy in Portugal”.
Organizada pela Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Juventude/Desporto e Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade, esta visita tem como objetivo dar a conhecer o modo como é desenvolvido o trabalho com jovens em Portugal, promover a troca de experiências entre Portugal e a Lituânia, explorar boas práticas locais e reforçar as ligações aos programas Erasmus+, nos domínios da Juventude e do Desporto, e ao Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade.
Dado o trabalho que tem vindo a ser desenvolvido na área da Juventude, a Área Metropolitana do Porto (AMP) foi desafiada a partilhar a sua experiência e aprendizagens, tendo acolhido a comitiva lituana no passado dia 7 de outubro, na sua sede. A sessão permitiu apresentar o trabalho realizado nos últimos três anos, destacando projetos como o Youth Monitor, o Grupo Estratégico Metropolitano de Juventude da AMP e o processo de construção da Estratégia Metropolitana de Juventude, evidenciando uma abordagem integrada e multinível de discussão e implementação.
Sendo o Youth Work o tema central desta visita, foi também sublinhada a importância do papel dos profissionais de juventude nos municípios e no território, reforçando a necessidade da sua formação contínua e especializada, do trabalho colaborativo em rede, da capacitação em metodologias de educação não formal e da sua participação em abordagens inovadoras de comunicação e envolvimento juvenil.
A AMP agradece à Agência Erasmus+ a oportunidade de integrar estes momentos de partilha e aprendizagem mútua, que continuam a enriquecer o trabalho com e para os jovens em toda a região.
