The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) has had its second application approved by the Erasmus+ programme in the field of youth policies: “POP-UP! Seize Your Opportunity”. This new project reinforces AMP's commitment to building an innovative, inclusive and sustainable youth ecosystem in the metropolitan area.

With a nationally and internationally recognised strategy, the AMP has been consolidating practices of proximity and participation among young people, organisations, professionals and decision-makers. The new application comes in response to the need to bring young people closer to the opportunities available in their municipalities, promoting active involvement in the development of public policies that are more tailored to their realities.

Inspired by the experience of the Metropolitan Public Policy Monitor for Youth (Youth Monitor), the ‘POP-UP!’ project aims to:

- Empower and include young people through actions that promote democratic participation.
- Strengthen local youth participation networks, supporting municipalities in structuring solid and lasting initiatives.
- Disseminate good practices and foster multi-level cooperation between local, regional and European actors.

In line with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027, this project recognises young people as active agents in society, capable of contributing to the reduction of inequalities and the development of more effective and representative public policies.

The AMP thus reaffirms its role as a territory of social innovation, where young people are an integral part of the decisions and transformations that shape the metropolitan future.
