As part of its metropolitan vision for youth, the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) has created the Metropolitan Strategy Group for Youth (GEMJ), an advisory body that brings together young leaders from the 17 municipalities of the AMP. This group has been contributing to the debate and development of solutions to challenges considered priorities by young people in the region, organising itself into three areas of work: Social Action (Housing and Mental Health), Mobility and Retaining Young People in the Region.

In November, a meeting was held between representatives of the GEMJ and the Porto Metropolitan Transport Company (E.M.T., S.A.), which welcomed the young people to its premises. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Marco Martins, presented the company's projects and vision, listening to the young people's proposals and concerns about mobility in the territory.

This meeting made it possible to identify solutions that meet the expectations of young people, strengthen cooperation between them and decision-makers, and promote active participation in improving mobility policies.

New meetings with other entities will be held soon, continuing GEMJ's mission: to give young people a voice and work together to build a more inclusive and sustainable territory.
