The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) will present its own space at the 2026 edition of BTL - Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market, taking place from 25 February to 1 March at FIL, in Parque das Nações, Lisbon.
For five days, the Porto Metropolitan Area will showcase the region's diversity, from food to crafts, culture, heritage and sport, with its municipalities jointly promoting experiences and entertainment.
Among the initiatives of the AMP municipalities are, for example, the presentation of Air Invictus 2026 by the municipalities of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Maia and Matosinhos. Events such as the Medieval Fair or Perlim, in Santa Maria da Feira, will also have their place, as will the S. Pedro Festivities (with a parade of the Tricanas Poveiras) in Póvoa de Varzim, the Bugiada e Mouriscada in Valongo, and the Cinanima (Mário Augusto) in Espinho.
Handicraft will be in the spotlight with a demonstration of the art of hat sculpting from S. João da Madeira, live work by the master saint maker from Trofa, and strip bags from Oliveira de Azeméis.
At the AMP dedicated area, stand 1C03 in Pavilion 1 of FIL, visitors will also be able to appreciate the filigree of Gondomar and taste the best food of the region, namely with a Crossroads of Flavours in the Lands of Santa Maria, including Vale de Cambra, and a tasting of Arouca veal and local products from Paredes, such as lupin bean cake.
At the AMP stand, there will also be time for leisure and relaxation, with Santo Tirso promoting thermal experiences. In addition, everything that includes the brand “Porto Region - perfect for each mood”, which seeks to highlight precisely the diversity of experiences that the region offers and affirm AMP as a destination of reference.
During BTL 2026, the AMP will be showcasing items that represent its municipalities. It also intends to contribute to decarbonisation, namely by providing visitors with information about its municipalities in digital format only, which can be downloaded via a QR Code.
