The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP)’s application to the Erasmus+ KA1 programme – Mobility for Youth Workers has been approved with the project “Power-UP! – Training to Multiply Opportunities for Young People”.
This project represents another step in consolidating the metropolitan strategy for youth policies, which has been asserting itself through initiatives such as the Youth Monitor, training professionals, holding forums to listen to young people and decision-makers, and setting up the Metropolitan Youth Strategy Group.
Developed in partnership with the Diputació de Barcelona, an entity with recognised experience in supporting municipalities in the area of youth and current partner of AMP in the Youth Monitor project, Power-UP! aims to promote inter-municipal and transnational cooperation, strengthen the skills of youth professionals, encourage digitalisation in the youth sector, and support the implementation of best practices based on technical and scientific evidence.
Throughout the project, 72 youth professionals from municipalities in the Porto Metropolitan Area and the Barcelona region will be involved. Through mobility, training and experience exchange activities, the aim is to generate a direct impact on organisations, communities and territories, contributing to a more empowered and participatory youth with access to quality opportunities.
The approval of this application reinforces AMP's commitment to an integrated and innovative approach to youth policies, focused on valuing human resources, institutional cooperation and building sustainable and inclusive solutions to the challenges young people face.
