Project Description: Climate Empowerment AMP 2030 is a supramunicipal operation that aims to increase the capacity to adapt to climate change in the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) by providing for the installation of 8 climatologic stations and management software, integrated in the IPMA (Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere) network, the production of local and regional climate knowledge, the review and qualification of PMACs (Municipal Climate Action Plans), the creation of climate risk alert systems, dedicated weather forecasts and training and capacity-building actions.
Main objective: To strengthen the AMP’s adaptation and climate resilience capacity.
Specific objectives:
· Installation of 8 climatologic stations and management software
· Production of local climatologic information
· Development of the Climate Empowerment AMP 2030 document
· Review and qualification of PMACs
· Implementation of climate risk alerts and forecasts
· Technical capacity building and increased climatologic literacy
· Interoperability and data sharing
