Final Report - September 2011
In 2009, following the deliberation of the Junta Metropolitana do Porto (JMP), the Área Metropolitana do Porto (AMP) signed a protocol with CIIMAR to conduct a study on the reduction of the seagull population in the Porto Metropolitan Area.
According to the foreseen schedule, the referred protocol culminated in the recent presentation of its Final Report, meanwhile approved by the JMP, mainly concluding that the reduction of the negative impact of gulls on heritage and on human activities is only possible through the elimination or strong reduction of food availability, as well as by trying to prevent them to come to their roosting area. These and other more detailed conclusions, as well as other suggestions, can be consulted in the full version of the Final Report or in its Executive Summary.
