Class of AMP’S municipalities’ interlocutors

The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Roadmap introduced five Social Entrepreneurship Initiatives to interlocutors from the 16 municipalities in the Porto Metropolitan Area:

  • ColorADD, colour identification system for the colour blind, considered as one of the 40 innovations that will change the world.

  • Revista Cais (Cais Magazine), a project well known for the sale of a magazine in some cities in Portugal by long term unemployed people, created by the Cais association, inspired by the English magazine Big Issue.

  • Cais Recicla (Recycling Cais), a project also by the Cais association, of ecodesign and promotion of employability skills, which turns industrial waste into very attractive products, such as necklaces, rings, pencils or notebooks, with the help of designers, creating job opportunities for long-term unemployed people.

  • Project "Dar Sentido à Vida” (Giving Meaning to Life) by the SAOM association, which turns people at risk of social exclusion into high-level professionals in the catering industry, providing 4 and 5-star catering services;

  • Vintage for a Cause, a very recent initiative, which is fighting the isolation of women over 50 years old through a sewing club that transforms vintage clothes, counting with the creative help of stylists.
