Project for Intervention in Vocational Development in Education and Training Contexts in the Porto Metropolitan Area

The Porto Metropolitan Area is implementing the Vocational Development Intervention Project in Education and Training Contexts, a strategic initiative that seeks to strengthen school and career guidance and support the vocational development of young people and adults in the region. This project is being developed in close partnership with the Directorate-General for Education (DGE), the Directorate-General for School Establishments (DGEstE), the National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education, I.P. (ANQEP, I.P.) and the Portuguese Psychologists' Association (OPP).

Objective

The project aims to promote a co-constructed territorial ecosystem involving:

·         Municipalities

·         Employers

·         Schools

·         Education and psychology professionals

·         Families and young people

·         Social support operators

This ecosystem is based on a shared and integrated vision of supply and demand, ensuring quality, diversity and consistency in the metropolitan area's education and training system. The aim is to strengthen the collective capacity to support informed school and professional decisions that are sustainable and aligned with the region's needs.

Training: Lifelong Career Intervention and in Contexts of Diversity (taught by the Portuguese Psychologists' Association)

This training aims to deepen theoretical, scientific and technical skills for the design, implementation and evaluation of career interventions, tailored to different stages of development and different populations.

Trainees have the opportunity to:

·         Consolidate knowledge based on scientific evidence.

·         Develop integrated and effective practices in school and career guidance.

·         Apply updated career development models in educational and community contexts.

Training Supervision

(provided by the Psychology Association of the University of Minho)

Supervision provides technical and specialised support to the professionals involved, with the following objectives:

·         To promote the development, autonomy and confidence of professionals working in the field of educational and vocational guidance.

·         To ensure coherence and consistency of interventions in the AMP territory.

·         To encourage collaborative practices and networking, enhancing synergies between professionals from different municipalities and contexts.

·         To ensure that actions are aligned with the Reference Framework for the Intervention of Psychologists in School/Education Contexts and with the latest research in the field of vocational development.
